If I Had More Time

Not exactly sure what's going on with me lately but I feel anxious.  I'm wondering if that has anything to do with the fact that I have too much on my plate?
One of my favourite expressions is, 'if there were only more hours in the day'.
The problem is, if I did have these extra hours, would I use them wisely?

With my extra hours I would do (or at least attempt) the following:
  1. Spend more time with my Grandmother
  2. Resume my French lessons so I know what I’m eating whenever I go to Paris
  3. Watch every movie that has ever won the Academy Award for Best Picture
  4. Volunteer
  5. Clean the dust bunnies from under my bed.  Btw, who thought to call them ‘bunnies’? They’re hardly cute.  'Dust Rats' is more appropriate.
  6. Take my dog for more walks
  7. Paint my kitchen red
  8. Write more
  9. Take a speed reading class so I can finish the books piled on my nightstand
  10. Spend more time at the museum
  11. Have coffee with friends more often
  12. Sit still more often
  13. Think of get-rich-quick schemes
  14. Play tennis more
  15. Dream about having more time
Making this list was harder than I thought and I'm sure I've left something out.

What would you do with more time?

If only 'hindsight' could be bottled my friend, you and I would be queuing up.

I know what you mean though, life continually gets in the way. Blasted nuisance if you ask me :)

Good post. As always.

Ah yes, the woman who likes to make lists.

Forget those French lessons, just take me. Bon Appetit! Watch every Oscar Best Picture - Driving Miss Daisy, The English Patient, Lord of The Overrated Rings? Believe me, you have better things to do with your time. Like think of movies that should have won Best Picture that year instead. Think of get rich quick schemes - haha. I'd join you - if I had the time.

Also would paint my toe nails, learn to scuba dive and oh, I always wanted to make my own wine glasses.

Oh man. I always wish that there was a pill I could take (healthily) and only need to sleep an hour a day with it.

I'd work out more. Spend more time catching up with friends. CLEAN MY HOUSE, ha. Of course, write and read more too!

Number two is a must and not just for the food, but for the culture. I'm not too sure about number three. The old adage goes that not all good movies win Oscars, but the Academy has never given the award to a bad one.

Red kitchen? Do you live in the Mediterranean? :-)

I agree with you on spending more time at museums.

'Sit still more often.' If more people thought of doing that. It works wonders.

Many thanks for such a brilliant post.

Greetings from London.

LIFE does get in the way of everything. sigh.

Karen:
How can you saw watching movies is a waste of time?!?!? You're a sceenwriter for crying out loud! :P
lol
But I do see your point; the Academy has awarded many stinkers.

Sara:
if you find that pill, let me know. That way, I won't have to bother thinking up Get-Rich-Quick scemes. Will save me LOT'S of time!

Hi London!
Thx for stopping by. I enjoy your blog--caught you on Jai's blog yesterday.
No, I don't live in the Mediterranean but some day, I will. And I'll have a red kitchen. ;)

If I had more time I would - make a list of things to do if I had more time.

hahahahahah...

Sorry, I have this idea in my head that I am unbelievably funny.

If I had more time I would spend it doing things with my family.

What a great post. I read a few of your other ones too and shall read even more when I have the.....(that old chestnut again!)...time! You are a terrific writer. Now let me see, if I had more time, I'd be better at keeping in touch with people, write more, take more care of my appearance, watch shows & films I like, esp comedy, and...oh there's lots but I just can't think offhand at the mo. Looking forward to reading more of your work, and btw I am an only child too! Take care :)
